Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE have a close friendship that goes back a decade, forged by mutual respect and influence. They’ve toured together, swapped guest features on each other’s albums, and in fact Earl was one of the first to champion MIKE back in 2016 while he was making waves in NYC’s underground hip-hop circles with the [sLUms] collective and in his own right with his cult classic album MAY GOD BLESS YOUR HUSTLE. Since then, the pair have developed a loyal working relationship, tallying notable collaborations like ‘allstar‘ on MIKE’s 2020 album weight of the world, ‘Sentry‘ on Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist’s collab album VOIR DIRE.

Their just announced collaborative double LP POMPEII // UTILITY will bring together two of the most critically celebrated rappers in the game, produced by NYC’s producer super-collective SURF GANG. While the project has remained a secret until now, this 33 track collection of songs has been many years in the making, a fact their respective cult fan bases have been acutely aware of through a trail of sporadic snippets and hints from the artists. Arriving on the heels of 2025 albums from both rappers — MIKE’s Showbiz! and Earl’s Live, Laugh, Love — POMPEII // UTILITY plays like a victory lap that traces their friendship back over more than a decade. While MIKE and Earl have orbited it selectively, they haven’t fully lived inside the SURF GANG universe until now, making POMPEII // UTILITY feel like a full-circle collision of worlds.

South-African born with Sri-Lankan (Tamil) heritage and an upbringing in Naarm/Melbourne, Ecca strutted her way onto the musical landscape in 2015 in traditional punk-style with an edgy disposition and something to say. Ecca’s debut ‘White Flag’ hit the nerve of a raucous youth, securing high rotation on triple j and rave reviews. With the momentum of ‘Battle Royal’ and ‘End of Time’ in her wings, Ecca would go on to soar with her self-titled debut album – her biggest release yet. Featuring Sampa The Great on ‘Your Orbit’ and fan favourite ‘Future Heroine’, acclaim includes Rolling Stone who delivered 4.5 stars for the ‘vibrant, dazzling collection of tunes’, while NME lauded the album’s ‘absolutely banging, genre-bending anthems for a generation’.

Ecca Vandal’s versatility extends outside the studio, just as comfortable in the arenas of Queens of the Stone Age and Gang of Youths, as with electronic greats The Prodigy and Young Fathers. With varied international headline runs and festival appearances across 2018/19 at Reading (UK), Leads (UK), AfroPunk (Paris) and Download (UK), her most notable collaborations include Hilltop Hoods for ‘Exit Sign’ and Alice Ivy’s ‘In My Mind’, rewarded for her embrace of the challenge in juxtaposing her own sound via collaborations with a stream of dedicated and diverse fans seamlessly across genre boundaries.

Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1983, Ellen Reid received her BFA from Columbia University and her MA from California Institute of the Arts.

Born and raised in the Valley, Evangeline grew up in a family of writers and performers. She spent her college years gigging with a band and began releasing songs under the moniker Eva B. Ross, which led to notable collaborations with artists like Big Thief’s Buck Meek and Christian Lee Hutson in addition to early praise everywhere from Paste to Brooklyn Vegan. Quickly, though, Evangeline began to feel like the stage name she’d adopted to make herself more accessible was something she’d outgrown. The moniker began to feel like a costume, and over the past three years she reconnected with the heritage of her given name and crafted the songs that would become Fuzzy.

Fuzzy is a raw, honest, and utterly addictive dose of alt-pop as witty and playful as it is poignant. The songs, produced with Dillon Casey (Weyes Blood), are dreamy and inviting, offering up shimmering sonic mirages that belie their true emotional depths, layering analog and digital elements into disarmingly beautiful soundscapes that manage to feel both modern and timeless all at once.

Singer/songwriter Eves Karydas commands attention with over 60 million streams and platinum hits like ‘Further Than The Planes Fly’, and ‘Complicated’, the most added track to Australian commercial radio, reaching #22 on triple j’s Hottest 100. With sold-out tours, billing on every major Australian festival, and supporting the likes of Dua Lipa and Geroge Ezra, her tracks have not only ingrained themselves in the fabric of the Australian cultural scene but have also found esteemed placements on streaming platforms around the world, as well as BBC Radio 1’s prestigious Best New Pop lineup. In 2024, Eves has become fully self-managed and independent, marking a significant shift in her approach. Her journey tells a powerful story of navigating a male-dominated industry while reclaiming her sound, image, and power after experiencing burnout from the industry’s tired “sex-sells” strategy. Today Eves sheds the past and embraces a fresh perspective.
