Where many search for serenity through their sound, Feign Jima creates it, her debut EP ‘Out of Myself’ is a momentary escape amidst a year of chaos. The music is just as introspective as it is transportive, channeling contemporaries Weyes Blood & Moses Sumney. With Jim Rindfleish (Mildlife) producing the debut, it is three tracks of vintage escapism primed for summer obsession. Fragments of adored nostalgia lay carefully scattered across each song. It is her voice however, that moves the project from the contemplative to the contemporary. Her silky tones tell more than tales as they thrust each track beyond the wistful, out of the window, past the blossoming garden and out of itself.
