Airling shares new single ‘Move Me’ out now via Pieater
Since entering into the music scene two years ago with her debut EP, Love Gracefully, Airling (Hannah Shepherd) continues to rise in prowess with each release, first with Japanese Wallpaper on their track ‘Forces’ and more recently, with her own single ‘Stallin’ released in 2015.
Brisbane-based, bright-eyed vocalist and songwriter Airling now returns with her new single ‘Move Me’ which premiered overnight on triple j’s Good Nights with Linda Marigliano. The track was produced by distinguished artist, label mate and long-time collaborator Tom Iansek and can be heard below:
Of the track and song-writing process Shepherd shares:
“I’m bursting to put new music out and share the flood of songs and stories I’ve been writing for my debut album. Some stuff has a pop lightness to it and others are very dark. ‘Move Me” feels like a good balance between the light and darkness that is inside my creativity and me at the moment. The song was completely stripped back to its bones, as a melody and beat, with me vibing out at home and we let it be that expression without over-complicating things or the sentiment. There’s a sensuality to it: in the notion of borrowing someone’s body on the dance floor and seeing how it fits with your own.”
In celebration of the new single, Airling will be playing shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this October, a first chance to preview a new batch of songs. All details are listed below.
