Alex Cameron shares ‘Studmuffin96’ video directed by + featuring Jemima Kirke
Ahead of his Australian tour dates later this month, Alex Cameron today shares his new video for ‘Studmuffin96’, taken from his acclaimed debut album Forced Witness, out now via Secretly Canadian. Directed by and featuring Jemima Kirke (Girls), the video is a dark, comic coming of age story about the bleakness of a fantasy realised. Kirke shares, “A young woman is reunited with a man from her past, and an attempt at romance ensues. But regardless of their efforts, their only common ground is a laundromat and a motel room”. Watch it now.
The video for ‘Studmuffin96’, comes with the news of a sold out show at The Foundry in Brisbane, revered Sydney-producer Laurence Pike joining Alex Cameron and Body Type across all headline dates, and seminal actor Russell Crowe declaring his support ahead of his Sydney headline show at the Manning Bar.
Alex Cameron has been touring relentlessly for the past year (including supporting The Killers’ stadium tour dates in the UK/US, a sold out North American tour including two shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, Lodge Room in Los Angeles, Lincoln Hall in Chicago and more, Laneway Festival and a sold out Australian headline tour in February, currently on tour in Europe and playing festivals such as Pitchfork Music Festival and Osheaga later this year), deservedly earning him the title as one of the most hardest working musicians in show business.
He returns home later this month for a second run of headline dates alongside an extensive run of arena shows supporting The Killers, including a revamped six-piece band featuring Roy Molloy on saxophone, Justin ‘Juice’ Nijssen on bass, Jack Ladder on guitar, Holiday Sidewinder on keys and vocals, andHenri Lindström on drums.
