Pearl is out now via NLV Records, buy/stream it here.

Anna Lunoe, DJ and producer today shares her debut album – the earnest and incandescent Pearl via NLV Records alongside new music video highlighting ‘The Seed’. LISTEN HERE + WATCH THE SEED HERE.

An album of exploration and regeneration that vividly captures Anna Lunoe’s growth as an artist over her longstanding career, Pearl is an immensible level up that revells in the space she has carved out not only for herself, but for the community of underground artists she’s inspired in this time. Self-assured and determined, Pearl is an uninhibited fascination on how music connects, twisting through high-spirited and vulnerable left turns before bringing listeners back to a place of catharsis.

A 13-track collection that illustrates her club intuition, Pearl signifies Anna’s growth as an artist, relinquishing over a decade of production depth and storytelling into every aspect of the record. In her words, she shares “When I started out in dance music as a local DJ, my dream was to fill dance floors and pay my rent. As my career expanded and the industry changed and I got thrown into new challenge after new challenge, I always felt like my artist voice had to be secondary to my DJ needs. So in a way this marks a kinda colossal shift in perspective on my career to date, putting my artistry at the front in a way I never have before.”

Re-approaching her love for dance music as a genre that has guided her through her life, Anna’s creative direction across Pearl is sonically adventurous – testing the outer limits of club music with markers of early 2000s, garage, hyper-pop to forge her own narrative. Leaning into her creative touch points, Anna calls on the sounds and ideas from friends around the world with Bristol-based J.O.S.H.U.A (‘Body Heat’), Jamaican vocalist Shanique Marie (‘Polite’), house & UK garage heads Y U QT (‘Only Love’), GRAMMY-nominated Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (‘Right Here’), London-via-Aus cult DJ/producer DJ Boring (‘Look My Way’) and UK mainstay Iglew (‘Keeping Secrets’) all contributing to her dynamic world based on common ground and connection.

A masterclass of sophisticated production, Anna ruminates on her creative freedom through voice notes in ‘Let’s Go Home’, to raw demos influenced by a Yves Tumor/Diana Gordon ‘Kerosene’ meets liquid D&B culture clash in ‘Going Home’, live show favourite ‘Trouble’ and today’s focus track, ‘The Seed’, an embrace of ‘rave magic’ and early 2000s trance that reflects on the music that shaped her growing up – “This track came from my first demo day in feb 2023. I knew instantly there was some innocent rave magic in that vocal line reminiscent of the early 2k trance I grew up loving. It took a few tries to achieve but I love its final form,” she reveals.

The Eora/Sydney-born and based multi-talent has built a career few can rival and a reputation as a revered voice, leader, and pioneer in dance music globally. Anna Lunoe has always been at the cutting edge of electronic music, whether in her own productions, her collaborations with the likes of Chris Lake, Flume, Skrillex as well as a history of collaborating with emerging stars including Notion, DJ BORING, Dance System, Jamie Unknown and CC:Disco among others. Between her glass ceiling smashing sets on the world’s biggest festival stages, or her career-defining role helming global club music show HYPERHOUSE on Apple Radio, she has always stayed devoted to spotlighting the most boundary-pushing new sounds, exploring every corner of club music, and finding what feels truest to her, combining the perspective that experience brings with a new clarity, vision, and energy.

In celebration of the upcoming album, Anna Lunoe will be heading to London next month for a one-off show supporting Dom Dolla at Drumsheds, as well as a November North American headline run. All dates and details below.
