Annie Bass and Christopher Port today share their Two-Track, out now via Future Classic/Opulent/Pieater. Listen:

The special Two-Track features lead single ‘Thrown Away’ alongside ‘Counting All’, both showcasing the distinct blend of Christopher Port’s forward thinking production alongside the dark and ethereal voice of Sydney-based singer Annie Bass, which was first heard on Bass’ breakthrough single ‘Don’t Want’ in 2017.

Annie Bass says of the release, “’Thrown Away’ is about the desperate fear of a something ending, and all the things you’ll tell yourself to keep it from slipping away. The song began as a piano ballad – recorded as a voice memo on my iPhone and tucked away for a long time. Working together with Chris brought it back to life. He has a way of turning words and melodies I never thought would see the light of day into songs I am really proud of.”

Christopher Port adds, “The two track was made in a handful of sessions in Melbourne with each track starting as a sketch by Annabel. We both worked at picking them apart and flipping them around, changing the chords, melody and lyrics together, all delivered through Annabel’s incredible voice. The end result is the most truly collaborative music I’ve made to date. I’m so proud of what we made and am so glad it’s out in the world.”

This is the first cut from Christopher Port since the release of his globally embraced Everything In Quotes “DARK” EP via a joint release from Future Classic/Pieater, that received spins across FBi Radio,triple j, BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music and festival plays at Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival and more. Along with the release of Port’s accompanying debut fashion line, 2017 saw the Melbourne-producer break out as one to watch with his melody-driven, genre-bending production that pays tribute to UK Garage and Melbourne’s own rising electronic scene, and is at once unpredictable and methodical. Christopher Port is set to release his follow-up EP Everything In Quotes “LIGHT” later this year. Catch him at his first headline show for 2018 this Saturday 3 March at the Evelyn Hotel in Melbourne.

Equally, Annie Bass aka Annabel Weston has been flooring audiences with her personal storied lyrics and evocative voice early on with the release of Oisima’s ‘Everything About Her’ and through solo work as Annie Bass in more recent singles ‘While I’m Waiting’ and ‘Don’t Want’ which has been streamed over a million times and was added to high rotation on triple j. She was also named as FBi Radio’s Independent Artist of The Week, showcased at BIGSOUND 2017 and toured nationally in support of Wafia, Touch Sensitive, Alta and No Mono, along with appearances at Splendour in the Grass, Listen Out, Vivid LIVE and Falls Festival. Annie Bass is currently working on her debut solo EP, recording it across the US and Australia.
