‘NRG’ contains multitudes. Charged with 90’s house, vogueing beats and Punjabi sampling to display ASHWARYA’s creative calibre: bouncy, flamboyant and uninhibited. Dedicated to confidence to highlight stepping into your power, ‘NRG’ bottles the bold sass of Doechii to Doja Cat. ASHWARYA unapologetically has the nerve throughout.
“NRG is relentless,” she explains. “It’s that perfect mix of intention and spontaneity, and you can feel that throughout the track. The whole idea of backing yourself, “Look at me! Look at me! NRG! NRG!” is something myself and everyone part of this track live by. You just have to know you’ve got it, no question.” Sollyy continues, “It was so fun to collaborate on this song with Ash, having Full Circle in the room helping with creation also makes the song feel so much more like a party – I hope anyone who hears it feels the same as me!!”

Entwined in collaboration, ASHWARYA continues, “Meeting Sollyy, FRIDAY*, and Pete from Breakfast Road for the first time in a studio setting felt like instant synergy —no walls, just connection. We didn’t overthink it; we just went with what felt right and made something we genuinely loved. Shooting the video was a dream, too. I got to work with my favourite people, including my longtime collaborator Charles Buxton-Leslie, who nailed the direction.” Capturing ‘NRG’s sentiment is the music video, continuing her fruitful partnership with Charles Buxton-Leslie (Ruel, Nick Ward), and Jordan Ruyi Blanch, showcasing ASHWARYA in her performance prime.
‘NRG’s video sees her navigate between two worlds – one fierce and playful to the other, a more unpredictable version of herself – against a cascade of seasons and alternating environments. Charles shares “Working with friends is something I really value in creative collaborations. Working with Ashwarya and Jordan was a dream as we could all put our heads together on this one and make something we were really proud of!” Jordan continues, “There’s an effortless steeze and playfulness in that track that I just adore. It was such a fun challenge collaborating with Charles and Ashwarya to bring that to life visually!”
Marking the occasion with her management and bookings signings across 23 PR & MGMT and Seismic Talent Agency, of the latter Joel Siviour is elated to share, “I’m so thrilled to welcome ASHWARYA to the Seismic Talent roster today! I’ve been a massive fan of Ash since her first release ‘BIRYANI,’ and I couldn’t be more excited to kick off this next era together alongside the release of the surefire hit that is ‘NRG’. She’s an undeniable performer and a natural onstage, and I can’t wait for the world to see what she’s been building.”
‘NRG’ receives it’s live debut tonight, as ASHWARYA supports RINI at Melbourne’s 170 Russell. Motivated to challenge the confines of genre, led by the clarity of her vision, fluid range and fierce creative direction, ASHWARYA is primed to become a juggernaut in pop. The hybrid talent is set to cement her creative integrity as a leading force – be sure to “look at me!” in 2025.
Emerging at a time in the local landscape where audiences were hungry for a radical prospect, ASHWARYA came up with her debut ‘PSYCHO HOLE’, establishing herself quickly as the next big thing in the space. Fusing her Indian heritage with her own niche of alt-pop – sharp production that leans on RNB to electronic influences and high calibre visuals – would spread like widefire in Australia and beyond. PAPER, Wonderland, Vogue India, NME, Hypebeast, Notion, Complex, The Guardian, triple j each recognising her ability to break the mould with her debut EP Nocturnal Hours, boasting a feature from Vic Mensa on ‘TO THE NIGHT’. Handpicked to support superstar Dua Lipa to music synced across Netflix and HBO, partnerships with Maybelline New York, Adidas, Levi’s and more, ASHWARYA’s art continues to be recognised as both trailblazing and immediately resonant. Her second EP WHY’S IT GOTTA HURT manifested ASHWARYA’s artistry in all new forms, attributing her brand with a balanced craft shy of dilution.
