Undoubtedly one of the decade’s most striking voices, Grammy Award-winning artist Baby Rose announces her highly anticipated new album YEARNALISM is slated for release on July 10 via Secretly Canadian. The song speaks to the core themes of the album, the complex nature of love in its various stages and forms – including romantic, self love and love for those around you – and the boundless yearning that comes from those palpable moments. Directed by Amaya Segura & Rae Blackman, the visual brings to life an essential element for YEARNALISM: Rose’s love for analog and her respect for the eras lined with staggering musicianship and the artists that came before her and remain central to her art. Here, Rose arrives with a sound that remains rooted in her fierce authenticity and vulnerability while introducing a style that is completely her own and positions her as one of music’s most pivotal artists today.

On ‘But, Nvm’, Baby Rose shares “A song about that realization that it was always their love I was chasing, Never mind I was protecting. But, nvm I see it now”

The first glimpse into YEARNALISM came with the release of Rose’s first song earlier this year, ‘Friends Again‘ with Leon Thomas which revealed an extraordinary new universe at the core of the album. Both a commercial and critical triumph, the song quickly became her most successful release to date amassing over 14 millions total global streams to date. The track saw the duo unite once again following their joint Grammy wins for Leon’s MUTT album, which won Best R&B Album and featured their first scintillating collaboration on their track ‘I USED TO’.

YEARNALISM ushers in a new chapter for Rose that carries through her singular sound with a newly found evolution from a renewed sense of self. With a tone that feels lived-in and timeless, Rose pulls from soul, gospel, jazz, rock, and R&B, infused with the spirits of the greats that defined the Muscle Shoals era and pivotal female artists that changed the face of music, such as Etta James, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin and more, while grounding her sound firmly in the present. Her music is intimate and cinematic, the kind that lingers long after the last note fades.

Additionally, Rose recently accompanied Giveon on his colossal European run, the Dear Beloved, The Tour, which wrapped last March, seeing two of music’s captivating voices perform on the same run for the first time.
