‘Right Here’ & ‘Saliba’ are out now, buy/stream here

Bag Raiders today unveil their next stream of music via a new double A-Side, ‘Right Here / Saliba’ out via their own imprint Broken Head Records. LISTEN HERE.

Keeping in line with Bag Raiders’ dancefloor-centred, fast-paced stamp of electronic music, ‘Right Here’ is an infectious, big-room melodic cut, with a hook that shines through, of which they share it being a, “Straight up and down house banger. No frills, maximum thrills. Cannot wait to unleash. Let the good times roll. This is an ode to old school sample house. Proof that if you have a good baseline and your drums smack, you really don’t need anything else.”

‘Saliba’ on the other hand takes a more percussive route with a heavy 70s-esque guitar riff, a track that has been road-tested in Bag Raiders’ DJ sets around the world over the past 12 months. Bag Raiders elaborate, “We’ve been playing this out in various forms for over a year now and it goes off. All hail the kring! The brief here was keep it rough and wonky like an old tin shed. We wanted the percussion and the guitars to be as rude as possible. We love suspense. When the track cuts out for a bar near the beginning you can tell the crowd is like, “oh no, did something go wrong up there?!” And then, boom, normal service resumed now with added bongo. What’s not to love?”

The release follows their Meg Mac collaboration ‘Love Me Back’, which was supported by triple j, iHeartRadio Australia, Rolling Stone Australia, 10 Magazine, Life Without Andy, Purple Sneakers and more for their ability to finesse repeat listens. In support of the release, Bag Raiders will be soon taking off on a huge run of live shows and DJ sets across Indonesia and Australia this December and January, which included a recent special performance at the Sydney Opera House for SYNTHONY – for more information on upcoming dates see below.

Praised for the space they occupy as dance music icons on the global scene, ‘Right Here / Saliba’ arrives after their collaboration with Troye Sivan on ‘Got Me Started’, who sampled Bag Raiders’ 2009 anthem ‘Shooting Stars’ on his acclaimed third studio album Something To Give Each Other. Marking the first time the track has been sampled, ‘Got Me Started’ has since tracked over 50 million Spotify streams and 8 million YouTube views since its release in September, alongside significant global radio airplay and a Saturday Night Live skit from Timothée Chalamet.

Not many artists have had an impact in the way that Bag Raiders have had on dance music, both in Australia and across the globe. With a rich history of achievements already in the bank, their 2010 self-titled debut changed the game having debuted at  #7 on the ARIA Charts, collecting nominations for ‘Best Dance Release’ (ARIA), ‘Album of the Year’ (triple j) and ‘Dance Work of the Year’ (APRA). A part of that record was the single ‘Shooting Stars‘ which has amassed over 4 billion streams online, clocked over 32 Platinum or Gold plaques worldwide, and had a cultural impact beyond anyone’s expectations.
