On ALDIE, Beaks explores the space between dreams and reality, examining the internal and external forces that blur the boundaries between the two. Coming together between July 2025 and March 2026 between travels to NYC, Paris, Norway and Berlin, the record was created during a period of personal turbulence, moving without sonic limits through a visceral blend of indie, pop, punk and electronic that cuts through the noise of a burgeoning landscape. Produced in collaborative studio sessions in Vienna with close friend Markus Windisch, ALDIE is replete with literary, cinematic and musical references to filter snapshots of life through her own writings, sometimes existentialist, sometimes orientated towards the pressure of modernity, sometimes both.
Arriving three years on from her debut single ‘I Dropped the Bottle’, ALDIE sees a growth in Beaks’ creativity and emotionally charged, off-kilter sonic world. Through songwriting and true self-expression that embraces contradiction, across the album, Beaks traces the coexistence between ecstasy and despair with lyrical precision.
Following on from ‘TY (robbed the bank)’ and ‘little silver’, Beaks leans on her synth-pop production charm, with a sound that sits somewhere between that of The Cars’ masterful ‘Heartbeat City’ or the magnetism of Sophia Stel to reach fresh sonic heist. “I made this song with my band after our show at Eurosonic in January” Beaks shares. We came back to the bungalow around midnight and had some beers. Markus had come to Groningen directly from a writing trip and had all of his equipment in his suitcase, we started playing around and at 3am the beers were finished and so was the demo of Hit Me Back. I remember I told the boys to leave the room so I could record the vocals in peace and really lean into it. They stood outside in the cold, on the terrace that was completely frozen over and cheered me on through the glass door.”
Following a huge summer playing across Europe, including a show at Pop-Kultur Festival where she was highlighted in The Line of Best Fit for her how the communities and spaces in Vienna have shaped the sound of her project. Having performed across tours in London, Tokyo and Berlin, today she announces a headline tour which will see her bring her debut album to Vienna, London, Hamburg and Berlin this November/December. The project of experimental post-punk artist and writer Anna Francesca from Vienna, Beaks weaves revealing poetry through bodied anthems, landing somewhere in between waking life and a dream-sequence. A multidisciplinary artist, Beaks studied photography and graphic design while working as an international model, having walked for high-profile brands including Celine, Vivienne Westwood, Miu Miu, Chanel and more. Modeling, however, was always a side quest. In 2023 she released her debut single ‘I Dropped the Bottle’, which has since seen over 4 million streams and helped cement Beaks’ position as a resonant and immersive artist across multiple formats.
