Body Type share new video for ‘Teeth’; debut Aus headline tour starts this month!
Following last weekend’s triumphant festival set at FBi Radio Turns 15, BODY TYPE are pleased to share their new video for ‘Teeth’ which premiered overnight by Wonderland. Directed and animated by Nicholas Griffith and Rikki Clark, the video plays homage to 90’s cartoons with a “trip” down to the dentist. Watch the video for ‘Teeth’ HERE.
Of the video, Nicholas Griffith says, “Rikki and I wanted to emphasise a 90s cartoon illustration style. I feel it’s something we’re both inspired by and would be a really simple and effective approach. In those cartoons, there’s no crazy after effects stuff going on. If something warps, you just draw it warping and that’s the fun part.”
Body Type’s Annabel Blackman adds, “Teeth is a song that twists one reality into another; sour dentist trips and heartbreak rips become a harnessing of the past and life’s crooked imperfections. This is one of our big amp up songs when we play, our collective level of ‘tude digs drama and humour out of the song like a big bad cavity.”
The video follows the release of the bands debut self-titled EP out via Inertia Music and Partisan Recordslast month and rounds out a huge year for Body Type who continue to go from strength to strength. Since picking up FBI Radio’s SMAC award for ‘Next Big Thing’ and ‘Best Live Act’ in January, Body Typehave gone on to garnering worldwide praise from likes of The FADER, DIY Mag, NME, KEXP, Beats 1’s Matt Wilkinson, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Stephens and triple j’s Declan Byrne across each release.
Live, Body Type have toured the country playing sold out shows supporting POND, Alex Cameron and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever before announcing their own debut headline tour starting in Fremantle later this month. Fans of the band can also catch them in Brisbane at End Of The Line Festival this weekend, before playing at Fairgrounds, Gizzfest and Festival Of The Sun to wrap up the year. Body Type will play SXSW Festival in 2019.
