Caroline Polachek is back with ‘Dang’, her first piece of new music since releasing one of 2023’s most critically-revered albums, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You. LISTEN TO ‘DANG’ HERE.
Produced by Polachek and Cecile Believe (SOPHIE, Shygirl, Dorian Electra), with additional production by Danny L Harle (Charli XCX, Pinkpantheress, Yeule), ‘Dang’s impressionistic lyrics and pounding production easily rank alongside ‘Bunny Is A Rider’ as one of the boldest and catchiest songs in her catalog.
Polachek debuted a special live performance of ‘Dang’ for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, wherein she presented a Ted Talk from a fever dream – an appropriately bewildering powerpoint presentation for such a forward-thinking song. Watch the full performance online now HERE.
Last week, Polachek delivered an incredible performance at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, with stripped-down versions of ‘Pretty In Possible’, ‘Blood And Butter’, ‘Sunset’, and ‘I Believe’. Polachek’s stellar renditions garnered praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Consequence, Hypebeast, The Fader, and many more. Watch the performance HERE.
Polachek’s profile has grown exponentially since the release of Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, along with her 2019 experimental pop masterpiece PANG, which cemented her as a generational talent. Since launching her solo career it’s been nonstop from headlining The Spiraling Tour globally, the direct opening spot on Dua Lipa’s 2022 North American Future Nostalgia Tour, to Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Primavera, All Points East, Governors Ball, Pitchfork Music Festival and Outside Lands, as well as late-night performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Night Show with James Corden. Standout viral tracks like ‘So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings’, have contributed to the album’s 175M global streams and counting.
