Darius, French house producer, kicks off hot vax summer with “Feels Right feat. Duñe”
Inspired by filtered house music from the French Touch era, Darius, knows how to make a groove. The fast-rising French producer’s runaway single “Hot Hands” went gold worldwide and has over 33M streams to date. Last year, he garnered fans for his dreamy collaboration with Berlin-via-Paris-via-Nigeria neo soul artist, Wayne Snow, and today he shares “Feels Right,” featuring fellow Roche Musique (FKJ, Cezaire) artist, Duñe.

Darius plays with retro textures, running his samples through tape recorders and giving them an imperfect, warm feel. “For a year, I recorded a lot of demos with musicians, assuming a more funk and soul side. From these sessions, I sampled, pitched, which gave those tracks a new life,” says Darius. “The primary influences are still a mixture of hip hop, r’n’b, funk, disco, it’s less experimental than before, it’s more colourful, more joyful, even in the progressions, I want it to be more positive.”
The artistic direction for the track is realized through Darius’ collaboration with Raegular (notably DA on LES ÉTOILES VAGABONDES by Nekfeu). As with his music, together they cut, photograph, and paste all elements of the creative, with the desire of developing an unforgettable object, much like the embroidery on the cover of Daft Punk’s ‘Homework’ – the inspiration behind the cover art, also found in the music video for ‘Feels Right,’ directed by Jason Yan Francis (among others, director for Major Lazer’s ‘Night Riders’ with Travis Scott), exploring a subtle 90’s aesthetic blend.
With fans at Complex, Flaunt, Clash, Hyepbeast, Fader, among others, and over 1Million monthly listeners across DSPs, Darius continues to spread his feel good message; stay tuned for more.
