Djanaba returns for 2026 with her effervescent electronic-pop single ‘Buster’. LISTEN HERE.
With over a million streams to her name, Djanaba continues to break barriers and turn heads with her fierce flow and crystalline soundscapes that redefine what it means to be a pop artist on her own terms as a proud Queer Bundjalung woman. This has led to widespread acclaim, materialised with live performances at festivals including Spilt Milk, Listen Out and Beyond The Valley, landing finalist in the2025 NSW Music’s First Nations Music Prize, working in the studio with Nick Littlemore and playing Laneway Festival across the country next month.
Following previous single ‘Big Titties (Little Titties)’, a dynamic collab with Beks that reworked her empowering hit ‘Big Titties’, Djanaba today joins forces with Gadigal-based electronic producer Hylander for ‘Buster’.
A driving cut of wall-to-wall electronic-pop, ‘Buster’ is an expansion of Djanaba’s signature playfulness, and with production from Hylander, is a full-bodied anthem at its most shiny. ‘Buster’ is Djanaba letting loose, further showing her talent to adapt wherever her mindset takes her. On the process she shares“After a long-ass work day, I pulled up to the studio late, exhausted, and with zero time to waste. Hylander played the track, and the second it hit, I jumped on the mic. The ideas just poured out.”
She continues, “I’ve been wanting to write a song that captures how little patience I have left for men who do the bare minimum, breathe, and somehow still expect more than the women doing twice the work. This song is my way of calling that behaviour out for what it is – and calling those men exactly what they are: DIRTY LITTLE DOGS.”
On working with Djanaba, Hylander says “I went into this wanting to create something fun & colourful with a strong dance element. I brought Djanaba in to take a look at the idea and she started laying down the hook on the first listen. I love that this song presents a fun/cute aesthetic with subversive lyrics that give an entirely different meaning if you really listen.”
Dialling into the restorative power of harnessing your inner confidence, each of Djanaba’s releases are as infectious as the last, grounded in the precision and care Djanaba dedicates to her craft. From her breakout collaboration with PNAU ‘Big Titties’ to the release of last year’s debut album Did I Stutter?, Djanaba chronicles her experiences in a fully-charged, yet realised way. Next up, Djanaba will be taking on Laneway Festival hitting Adelaide, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney this February – all dates below.
