Melbourne-based, boundary-pushing artist Ecca Vandal unveils her new single ‘BLEACH’ today. Arriving alongside a striking self-directed video—written, styled, edited, and directed by Ecca herself—the release deepens the fiercely independent world she’s been building across recent singles ‘MOLLY‘, ‘CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE‘, ‘BLEED BUT NEVER DIE‘ and ‘THEN THERE’S ONE‘. All of the recent singles are taken from Ecca’s forthcoming album, her long awaited, yet to be announced follow up to her 2017 self-titled record. ‘BLEACH’ hits as a brutal act of self-renewal: a scorched-earth purge of fear, labels, and inherited rules, capturing the clarity that comes from cutting away what no longer serves you in order to build something brighter. Speaking about her new song, Ecca shares, “‘BLEACH’ is the moment you shed the version of yourself moulded by fear. It’s brutal, honest, messy, and necessary — letting the old stuff go to make room for something new.”

Ecca Vandal fearlessly fuses punk, hip-hop, jazz, soul, trip-hop and electronic influences into a sound that’s as explosive as it is unmistakably her own. Spending her formative years as a jazz musician, her passion for improvisation led her to fall in love with the DIY abandon of punk and foster an ability to effortlessly balance soulful melodies with raw, unapologetic power. Following performances with Limp Bizkit across South America and at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival last year, Ecca Vandal will be making her Coachella debut this April ahead of performances at Rock im Park Festival and Rock am Ring Festival in Germany, Outbreak Festival in Manchester, UK, Rock For People Festival in Prague this June and Roskilde Festival in Denmark this July.
