Elk Road shares new track ‘Lights’
Perth-producer Elk Road is pleased to share his latest single ‘Lights’ which premiered on triple j’s ‘Good Nights’ with Linda Marigliano overnight. Listen to it here: Stream / Buy.
‘Lights’ is the anticipated follow-up to his debut single ‘Not To Worry feat. Governors’ that introduced audiences to his brand of bold dance and electronica. Audiences were also treated to various remixes of the track from a diverse mix of lauded producers and local acts on the rise including, TACHES, Samuel Proffitt, PUZL and Yvng Jalapeno,
Elk Road said of the writing process for ‘Lights‘, “I wanted to make something fun and energetic that contained all my favourite elements – soaring guitars, pounding basslines, steel drums, vocal melodies and so on. It started out as a really chilled track and as I worked on it over 6 months it progressively became more and more dance-floor.”
Elk Road had a big year in 2015, releasing remixes for the likes of Charlie XCX and Kaskade and appearing at festivals such as Your Paradise, Splendour In The Grass and Sydney’s Electronic Music Conference of which he spoke at the event’s sampling panels alongside Yolanda Be Cool, Adam Booth and James Roberts.
The producer has since been busy on the road with Carmada across regional Australian dates this March to April as well as supporting Seattle-based electronic duo ODESZA in Sydney and again in Perth next week. Elk Road will also be joining the Groovin The Moo line-up in Bunbury on Saturday 7 May.
