‘Suppression‘ is out now via Lex Records, buy/stream it here.

Fly Anakin shares the third and final offering from his forthcoming project with Mutant Academy producer Foisey, Skinemaxxx (Side A), with new single ‘Suppression‘. From the track’s opening seconds, Anakin is relentless with his delivery and his writing, unleashing long-held grievances, observances, and truths in one of the backbone statements of his forthcoming project. LISTEN + WATCH HERE + PRE-ORDER SKINEMAXXX (SIDE A) HERE.

The first installment of Skinemaxxx is out April 5th via Lex Records, and includes previously-released singles ‘Outsidigan’s Anthem‘, which arrived alongside an accompanying visual co-directed by Anakin and Matt Cowen, and ‘Blicky Bop‘, which The FADER deemed a Song You Need upon its release. Skinemaxxx has a personality all its own, rooted in the Mutant Academy canon of tongue-in-cheek skits, inside jokes, and blistering raps atop production from one of its musical masterminds, Foisey.

Following the project’s release, Anakin is joining YUNGMORPHEUS on a co-headlining US tour kicking off on May 31st in Atlanta. The tour will stretch across 6 dates, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and a night at Public Records in Brooklyn.

Skinemaxxx (Side A) builds upon the breakout year Anakin had in 2022 with the release of his debut studio album Frank, which includes the stand-out tracks ‘Black Be The Source‘, ‘Ghost‘ and ‘Sean Price‘, and led Pitchfork to describe him as “the single best pure rapper in the scene.” Frank planted Anakin’s flag in the contemporary hip-hop scene as not only a technically-gifted rapper, but as a fully-realized artist and songwriter, and received praise from Rolling Stone, The FADER, Complex, and NPR. The album also landed on best-of-the-year lists at Bandcamp, HipHopDX, OkayPlayer, Uproxx and more. Most recently, Fly Anakin enlisted Madlib for a remix of the Frank track ‘No Dough, which was included on Lex Records’ LEX-XX 20th Anniversary remix series. Stay tuned for more from Fly Anakin coming soon.
