FOURA crafts gritty drum & bass anthem ‘Rudeboy’ (feat. Subten & GHS)
Naarm/Melbourne producer and selector FOURA today unveils her latest single, ‘Rudeboy’ featuring UK heavyweights Subten and GHS, via NLV Records. LISTEN HERE.
Maintaining the foundations of drum and bass, ‘Rudeboy’ takes a new shape through hyperfast breakbeat and punchy, dynamic rap verses. FOURA’s staple high-octane edge and careful production is pushed to a new height with the sonic additions of UK grime and bass veterans Subten (Dizzie Rascal, Whiney) and GHS (Flowdan, Kobe JT).
Known for his distinctive flow and innovative wordplay, North London-based MC Subten joins GHS’s melodic and dance-influenced sound deeply rooted in the street-level narratives typical of grime, both guided by FOURA’s steadily cultivated production that “makes you feel something” (triple j). In her words, FOURA shares “This was such a fun one to work on, have loved both these guys for a minute! Can’t wait to watch it go off at festivals and Boiler Room this season”. For GHS, ‘Rudeboy’ is “for the people who live on their own terms” and Subten reflects that “I put on for the north I love my hometown like Adele”.
Since the release of her 2022 debut mixtape Taste – which scored praise across triple j, triple j Unearthed, Rinse FM, FBi Radio and Foundation FM among others – FOURA has gone on to produce a string of club remixes for the likes of Luuude, Bru-C and Benson alongside her early 2023 UKG single ‘N.S.E.W.’ with Jalmar. Beyond a stack of international support slots including Groove Armada, Peggy Gou, DJ EZ under her belt, FOURA has also soundtracked dancefloors on the festival circuit at Let Them Eat Cake, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Beyond the Valley, and soon will be bringing her self-assured style and ever-expanding taste to stages this year including Boiler Room Melbourne, Listen Out and Beyond The Valley.
