Getdown Services’ wry wit & noisy elegance on “The Radiator”
Today, “the most exciting and interesting band in the UK right now” (CLASH), Getdown Services, releases a new single, “The Radiator,” via Breakfast Records. Their stomping electronic funk, distorted hard rock guitar riffs, power pop hooks, and occasional downtempo reflection revels in and revolts at the quotidian horrors of life: working, getting older, and the unattainability of proper adulthood. The release foreshadows their nearly sold-out US / Canadian tour to start this April, all dates below. Listen to “The Radiator” here.
Fresh off a run of arena shows with Viagra Boys, “The Radiator” is the duo’s first new music since last year’s Crumbs 2 and their sold out 2025 UK tour. It hits like a blend of Arab Strap’s wry wit and the noisy elegance of Daft Punk’s “Rollin’ & Scratchin.’” Simple vocal hooks are delivered with a stuck on Somerset accent and tossed-around candor; the pair’s world class production skills sit front and center.
Josh Law explains: “This song is about only picking fights that you know you’ll win. It came about because the heating wouldn’t come on once and I thought about when we bang things to make them work. Ben once told me that he used to threaten his PlayStation 1 when games wouldn’t load quick enough. The sense of victory you get when you feel like you’ve physically intimidated an inanimate object into doing what you want is bizarre and pathetic and really funny.”

Getdown Services, aka Josh Law and Ben Sadler, posses a seemingly endless ability to write, perform, and produce songs that capture modern life with a uniquely acerbic wit and playfulness. Their wiles have been clear ever since one of their first shows outside of the UK at La Zad in France, where they were still able to have a great time playing the whole set to a dog and man smoking a bong facing the wrong way around. There’s an uninhibited shamelessness to their performance that allows their audience, whoever it is, to enjoy as freely as they do.
They’ve come a long way since that gig: Walton Goggins, Troye Sivan, and BBC Radio all love them, to name a few diehard fans. They have brought their “high-octane, low-culture genius” (The Guardian) to the likes of Glastonbury, their hometown/Bristol’s Beacon theater, and packed rooms around the globe; they’re set to play with CMAT at LIDO Festival in London this summer in addition to US/UK/EU touring.
With momentum building at a staggering pace, and their live shows already the stuff of legend. Their stance on modern British life sits somewhere between rave, satire, and social commentary –– and it is winning them legions of fans all over the world.
