Fresh from a run of shows in Tokyo and Seoul, New Zealand-Korean alt artist Hans. today shares his collaborative new release ‘All I Need’, featuring NZ-Korean indie pop artist hanbee. LISTEN + WATCH HERE.
A showcase of Hans.’ idyllic approach to indie-pop, ‘All I Need’ takes shape through his bright, distinctive production amongst hanbee’s melodic vocals, combining textures previously teased through their earlier joint tracks including ‘Warmer’ and ‘Weekenders’. Elevated here, ‘All I Need’ is an immersive new level of their long-distance collaboration and palette, delicately crafted with a sound deep-rooted in 50’s pop influences.
“This one started as an idea I was just playing around with for fun.. I’ve always wanted to make something that feels like 50s pop” Hans. reveals. “It really took form when I got hanbee to layer things on top and in some sense it kind of reminded me of a Christmas song. The first snowfall of 2025 fell the night we shot the video in Seoul too. This one is very special!”
With a buttery smooth sound, likened to that of Benee, Clairo and Kali Uchis, hanbee is a fast-rising Korean indie pop singer from Auckland, New Zealand. Following the release of her debut album small love – with her song ‘strange’ listed in Apple Music Korea’s 100 Best Songs of 2024 and hanbee awarded the platform’s Up Next artist – hanbee has been marked by steady growth and acclaim, having been freshly announced as a YouTube Foundry Ambassador, she’s also taken to the stage performing at Laneway Festival, SXSW Australia, and alongside the likes of Men I Trust, Fazerdaze, and Telenova.
Since releasing his debut single ‘Froyo‘ in 2017 – a collaboration with indie-pop darling Clairo – Hans. has continued to make waves across the globe. Lauded by Apple DJ Zane Lowe, who highlighted Hans. as one of his favourite New Zealand artists, he has well and truly established himself as a staple in the Australiasian alternative scene, playing both Laneway Festival and SXSW Sydney in 2023, surpassing over 30 million streams and support international heavyweights including Billie Eilish, Rejjie Snow, Hard Life and pH-1.
