Headaches today shares ‘So Bad’, the next preview of their upcoming EP We’ll Make Our Beds When We Get Home out October 16 via dottidot. LISTEN HERE.

Joining recent single ‘Sweeter Than This’, praised by BBC 6Music, triple j Unearthed, COLOURSxSTUDIOS, Ones To Watch, fbi.radio and more, ‘So Bad’ captures Headaches in the push and pull of impulse, knowingly embracing destruction, and acknowledging the tension in knowing what’s good for you and being drawn towards exactly what isn’t.

The project of Melisa Bester, on the track they share “This song is about the allure of being self destructive. It’s about the push and pull of wanting to do something that’s bad for you. There’s a dull ache that’s only quieted by desensitisation. Acknowledging that you’re ignoring everything you’ve learnt by following your impulses.”

Lifted from their upcoming release We’ll Make Our Beds When We Get Home, ‘So Bad’ is a brand new peek into the musicality of Headaches. The track also includes a melody they wrote as a teenager, which contributes to their mesmerising ability to craft honest depictions of growing up and their younger self’s world that we see across the EP.

We’ll Make Our Beds When We Get Home also sees the artist return to dottidot, the indie label founded by GRAMMY-nominated artist Maxwell Byrne (1tbsp, Golden Vessel). Exploring city life, feeling young, avoidant, detached, horny, cagey, performative, self destructive, We’ll Make Our Beds When We’re Home is an arresting composition of sincere lyricism and swelling production, caught in the cycle of feeling misunderstood while avoiding understanding yourself.

Having made and released music under the pseudonym E^ST since 2014, Headaches emerges with a DIY ethos and a sonic evolution that pulls towards more intricate, enigmatic electronic production. In 2024 Headaches released Making Friends with the Space Around Me, a collaborative album with GoldenVessel (1tbsp), before releasing their debut solo EP Looking For Something New. Stay tuned as Headaches uncovers their lo-fi, interpersonal visual world with us.
