Introducing Odyssey TV: Odyssey Sound Space’s new video interview series
Today, Odyssey Sound Space, the powerhouse podcast series and curated playlist platform hosted by music curator, editor, DJ and podcast host Roxy Lola, announces the launch of Odyssey TV. A visual extension of the platform, Odyssey TV is a video interview series designed to capture artists candidly in their current moment. Episode 1 is out now, featuring electronic music visionary Ninajirachi. WATCH HERE.
Initially launched in 2022, Odyssey Sound Space began as a curated music project that tapped rising artists to create exclusive and themed playlists for listeners. Helmed by Roxy Lola, the platform grew in 2023 into Odyssey Sound Sessions, a music podcast dedicated to intimate conversations with musicians around a playlist of songs that have soundtracked their lives and influenced their production, songwriting, and sound.
Now with Odyssey TV, Roxy expands the platform with a video interview series, guided by her informed, relaxed interview style, with each episode featuring conversations with artists about what’s currently happening in their world. Filmed alongside director Somerset Phaedrus, each episode is recorded lo-fi and minimally edited for unfiltered conversations.
Inspired by ’90s music television, of Odyssey TV’s launch, Roxy Lola shares: “I found myself drawn to watching the unfiltered music interviews from the 90s of bands and artists, like Green Day, Spice Girls, and Radiohead, that were completely unpolished, barely edited, and minimally recorded. There’s a spontaneity to the artists in these videos, and I think that comes from the rawness and simplicity in which they’re being captured. I was excited to talk to today’s rising musicians in this candid way, so I tracked down different artists I love and met them in spaces where they felt completely themselves in. From there, we had natural, free-flowing conversations about the music they’ve been making and where they’re at on their journey.
I see these interviews as time capsules documenting these moments, whether it’s ahead of a world tour, backstage at a headline show, in the bedroom they record in, or at the studio where they’re wrapping up an album. In such a highly-produced and intensely-edited world, Odyssey TV is bringing the music interview back to basics.”
With an instinctive understanding of sound, storytelling, and culture, Roxy Lola has built a career around amplifying the stories behind the artists and songs that shape our lives. As Digital & Music Editor of 10 Magazine Australia and Contributing Culture Editor at ELLE Australia, she brings an editorial sensibility that prioritises nuance, context, and genuine connection. Her conversations are shaped not just by a deep knowledge of music history and underground culture, but by an understanding of how music intersects with fashion, art, and broader cultural movements.
Informed by years immersed in music journalism and cultural commentary, Roxy Lola has previously interviewed the likes of Fontaines D.C., Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, and Amyl and the Sniffers, among many others.
