Remedy” is out now, buy/stream it here.

Kareen Lomax — the LA-via-Atlanta alternative R&B artist who’s written for the likes of Syd, Leon Bridges, Maroon 5, PRETTYMUCH, Kavinsky, and more alongside her profound, wholehearted solo work — is sharing today the new single “Remedy.” Listen to “Remedy” here.

Using her always authentic way of articulating the world around her, Kareen Lomax’s “Remedy” reflects on her rise in the music industry through an introspective acclamation of self-love. With her uniquely androgynous vocals she sings, “On a tightrope walking through the industry, Fragile heart imma love with it carefully, Cause I love myself that’s the remedy.”

Underneath the story is a smooth, soulful afrobeat-inspired rhythm, produced by frequent collaborator Daoud (Kehlani, SZA), with background vocals that sound as if they’re made of gold. “Remedy” is rich, warm, and of a gospel-like essence come the final choruses.

Prior to today’s release, Kareen most recently shared the single “SELF CARE,” which quickly caught the attention of industry tastemakers: it was hand picked by Ebro Darden for Apple Music’s “Discovered On,” spun on the influential KEXP, and covered a TIDAL playlist. Earlier last year came “Running Blind” with dance/electronic luminary Aluna and the wildly popular Parisian producer/DJ Tchami.

Kareen Lomax was first noticed by producer Diplo just a few years ago, and since her feature on his 2020 track “Looking For Me” sat atop the charts upon release, Kareen’s spirited songwriting sensibilities quickly garnered a great deal of attention. A year later she released her debut album Hard Feelings, while FLOOD, Ones To Watch, MTV, and Ladygunn sung its praises.
