TOUGH LOVE
by Linda Marigliano
Season 2 is out now

Tough Love, the Australian Podcast Award-winning project by beloved radio, TV host and author Linda Marigliano returns today with the launch of Season 2. Episode 1 arrives following the drop of her memoir Love Language and recent sold-out appearance at the Sydney Opera House for All About Women. In 2021, Linda Marigliano released Tough Love, a podcast about one of the sh*ttest times of her life. Cheeky but contemplative, the award-winning documentary series audio-journaled Linda’s toughest love lessons in real-time and invited women to reflect on their own lived experiences. Season 2 continues her chronicle of the exhilarating highs, lows and big ideas many women face in eight new shapes, guided by her careful ear for innovative documentary, storytelling and music.

Elated by its release, Linda shares “I’ve poured my whole heart into this thing, and this new chapter holds more drama, more tenderness and more growth than ever before. It’s been such a dream project –  equally hilarious and hopeful. I cannot wait to share this juicy new season!”

Picking up where Season 1 left off, the stakes for Linda have never been higher in Season 2. Where she previously battled reclaiming her identity beyond a high-profile job, we hear Linda manoeuvre tension between her parents when their respective health issues threaten to de-rail her jet set a second time; watching them grow older, this goodbye becomes harder as she juggles her dreams with familial duty.

Today’s release of Episode 1 ‘Are We Still Worth It?’ recounts that transition in the lead-up to her long-awaited reunion with Magnus. As she makes sense of the passing of time against moments spent virtually and physically, reminiscing on the lessons that brought her here, listen as Linda answers the most important question so far.

With all-new episodes dropping weekly, hear Linda step foot in her LA home for the first time in two years as she comes to terms with being a people pleaser and learns how to set boundaries, take risks and manage the stress that manifests in us physically; alongside reconnecting with childhood friends and egg-freezing besties that give her hope and strength as she steadies for her biggest leap yet: moving for real.

Joined by her closest confidants and special guests including vocalist, podcaster, author Jessie Ware, producer-songwriter Benny Blanco, journalist Kumi Taguchi, DJ Anna Lunoe, her namesake Nonna Carmelinda and more, through it all, Linda realises just how similar her struggles are with her parents’ own migrant journeys – that every visit counts and how to remain loyal from afar, plus a special live recording from her All About Women appearance at the Sydney Opera House.

Tough Love Season 2 sets the scene for Linda’s other big project, her memoir: Love Language out now via Allen & Unwin. The book is a determined reclamation of Linda Marigliano’s identity; a fiercely relatable and viscerally honest account of what it means to love and be loved. A memoir of family, music and pasta featured across Stellar Magazine, The Guardian, Refinery29, Sydney Morning Herald, MamaMia, Radio National, RUSSH, Fashion Journal, InStyle, Good Reading Magazine, FBi Radio and more.

From a loyal two million listeners in her ten years at triple j, most recently as host of Mornings, Linda Marigliano is a permanent fixture in the Australian music scene as the warm commanding ear who makes you feel like you’ve joined a flowing conversation with a best friend. With 15 years of experience across gigs hosting Splendour in the Grass, Laneway Festival, New Year’s Eve LIVE from the Sydney Opera House, and The Set on ABC, Linda was also the creator and host of the Inspired series, her weekly music-chart-topping podcast exploring the making of Australia’s favourite songs.
