Over the past decade, Good Morning have carved out a peculiar, hard-to-define indie career for themselves, amassing a global cult fanbase and hundreds of millions of streams despite (or perhaps because of) their defiantly DIY approach. The band/duo/recording-thing from Naarm / Melbourne, Australia come together as Stefan Blair (29, brown hair, 6 foot something) plays most of the instruments and sings half the songs. Liam Parsons (30, brown hair, 6 foot on the dot) plays the rest of the instruments and sings the other half of the songs. The band name is intentionally impossible to Google but hasn’t gotten in the way of them getting shouted out by Tyler, The Creator, sampled by A$AP Rocky, going viral on TikTok (for their 2015 track ‘Warned You‘), or touring the globe (including the US, Mexico, China, Japan, Thailand, and beyond). Their 2021 album Barnyard, both thoughtful and catchy, released internationally via Polyvinyl was met with widespread acclaim from Rolling Stone, NME, Stereogum, The Line Of Best Fit, Consequence, Alt Press, Paste, DIY Magazine, Northern Transmissions, KCRW, 6Music and more – setting the scene for their seventh record Good Morning Seven. The double album filled with strings, synths, samples and singing marks their 10th year anniversary of being a band. It’s all down hill from here.

Having scored blockbuster hits alongside Diplo, as well as for the likes of Maroon 5, Syd, Leon Bridges, and more, her forthcoming project, which contains blushes of neo-soul, progressive R&B, and acoustic ballads, sees her turning the spotlight onto herself. With a ferocious pen and heart-stopping voice, Lomax’s debut is full of hyper-relatable screeds and salves for anyone still struggling to love themselves.

Mike Brandon (lead vocals / guitar), LA Solano (lead guitar), Alex Amini (bass), Lily Rogers (keys), Zach Butler (drums)

After some well-earned rest and relaxation, The Mystery Lights return with their most ambitious offering to date. With Wayne Gordon back in the producer’s chair, the group along with long-time label, Wick Records, prepare to release their third full-length, Purgatory.

The Mystery Lights story begins in 2004 in the small town of Salinas California when friends Michael Brandon and Luis Alfonso – whose shared fondness for groups like The Mc5, VelvetUnderground, Dead Moon, and The Fall (to name a few) – joined forces to craft their own brand of unhinged rock and roll. From there they spent the better part of 10 years touring relentlessly before migrating to Queens, New York in 2014.

With a live show known for its raw, visceral energy and relentless assault – leaving little to no stoppage between songs – they barreled through countless NYC haunts and DIY venues, quickly amassing a fervent local following. The buzz soon caught the attention of Daptone Records execs who were in the beginning stages of launching a new rock-centric imprint, Wick Records. Impressed by the groups’ musicianship, groove, endless supply of energy, and understanding of musical history, The Mystery Lights were quickly signed to Wick. Though a rock band at heart, the parallels to what Daptone Records had traditionally looked for in their Soul artists was undeniable.

Freddie Dredd initially gained notoriety as a member of the Doomshop/Sixtet Collective of underground artists. His breakthrough came in 2019 after his single “Cha Cha” caught fire on TikTok, where users were drawn to his vibey combination of ethereal samples and hard-hitting production. “Cha Cha“ went Gold, racking up over 192 million streams on Spotify alone. Freddie trended on TikTok again that year with his bossa nova-sampling single “Opaul.”

Based in Oshawa, Ontario. Freddie has carved out his own lane in music, reaching a global audience with a combination of gritty lo-fi sounds, vintage samples, and lyrics that veer between the bleakly philosophical and humorously macabre. Bold and daring, Freddie’s music takes inspiration from the horrorcore and dark trap of ’90s Memphis, TN — something he discovered by accident during his teenage years — as well the intensity of metal bands like Korn and Meshuggah.

In 2020, Freddie released Suffer, his debut EP for RCA Records, created in collaboration with his ongoing production partner Ryan C. Evolving his persona even further, in 2022 he released his debut album Freddie’s Inferno, which debuted in the Top 10 of the Spotify Global Charts. Flashing a predilection for distortion and red-lining bass, the young rapper leverages extreme imagery, damning metaphors, and creative threats to embolden a rap persona — part Freddie, part Hannibal Lecter, and part Lucifer. The album spawned the runaway hit “Limbo.” Now RIAA Platinum-certified (with over 315 million streams on Spotify), the ground-shaking track resonated particularly with the online gaming community, inspiring a deluge of fan-made Call of Duty videos that further propelled the track’s consumption.

As his star ascended — and his catalog amassed over 2 billion streams — Freddie took to the road. He whipped fans into a frenzy during his set at 2023’s Rolling Loud Miami; followed that up with a 20-city headlining tour powered by Rolling Loud; and joined $uicide Boy$ on their sold-out arena tour, joining them on the iconic Madison Square Garden stage to perform their collab “Provolone and Heroin.”

Following a yearlong break, Cease & Disintegrate is the launchpad for what’s destined to be Freddie Dredd’s biggest year yet, featuring extensive live dates as well as plenty of new music.

However, he found unlikely inspiration for his own music in the LA River. “Most assume the LA River is manmade,” he explains, “it is not. Its current concrete form is the result of humans trying to improve it. Like a bee building a hive, it’s our nature to fortify, eternalize. But what is our responsibility now that we’ve completely dominated the natural world? Does being a good person mean living in opposition of our instincts?”

This observation provided the spark for I know trash people who keep the oceans clean, his debut album out January 28.

By the age of 13, she’d gone viral as part of Gucci Gang – not the Hip Hop supergroup – a teenage fashion-influencer foursome bringing a Gen Z perspective to the Parisian fashion space. Vogue, I-D, Vice, Dazed, and more, took notice of their vision, but the foursome was quickly motivated to give back to other young women and use their influence for good. The collective started ‘Safe Place,’ an online platform that helps gives voice to people who have suffered sexual abuse and harassment.

Performance in all its forms has always been intrinsic in Ayesha’s life, from adolescence – learning drums and piano – through to her breakout in Netflix’s recent Heartbreak High, which reached #5 in Netflix’s top TV shows globally. For the rising creative, music and songwriting remained at the forefront of her creative output as she strives for humility and grit in all aspects of her craft. Her earlier single ‘Eulogy’ received praise across SBS’ The Feed and Spice radio program, Rolling Stone, Clash Music, NME, Wonderland, Frankie Magazine, rage and more commending Ayesha’s enduring candour. A deep consideration for authentic storytelling and grit continues to guide her work in perhaps music’s most synthetic genre. A refreshing feat is how Madon continues to captivate fans in every format she dabbles – an ability to consistently keep it real backed with a desire to build a career of integrity.
