Phoenix’s By Storm releases their debut album as a duo, My Ghosts Go Ghost via deadAir. LISTEN HERE.

The duo, consisting of former trio Injury Reserve’s RiTchie and Parker Corey, detailed this next creative chapter in an open letter to fans earlier this month, unpacking the process of developing this album over a series of live shows they played in 2025. The album consists of a series of songs that were built through simple concepts, tested live, tinkered with and iterated on over the course of those Phoenix, London, New York and LA shows, including ‘Double Trio 2‘, ‘Zig Zag‘, and ‘In My Town‘.

Most recently, the duo released the final single from the album ‘And I Dance‘, which Stereogum called a “clattering and emotional club meditation”. My Ghosts Go Ghost is predominately the byproduct of RiTchie and Corey’s creative partnership, but the album does feature a lone guest appearance from Armand Hammer’s billy woods on ‘Best Interest’.

My Ghosts Go Ghost vibrates with the fearlessness of starting a new chapter and standing alone in chiseling new sounds out of a decade’s worth of life experiences as a partnership making music. Parker’s approach to production on this album is simple, yet incredibly dense, with carefully placed pockets of silence or near-silence that leave just enough room for listeners to catch their breath.

RiTchie’s lyrics are similarly dual-edged: writing through existential bouts with financial hardships and capitalism, battles with ego and staying pragmatic as a new father, balanced with a yearning joy for loving the process of music making and a resolute belief it will find its audience. Together, My Ghosts Go Ghost represents a forward-thinking, confident introduction for By Storm with a linear record that spins true stories of RiTchie and Parker’s creative partnership finding new footing amidst loss, pinnacle life changes and growth.
