Nilüfer Yanya’s return to Australia – her first since her debut shows in 2019 – promises material from her suite of albums My Method Actor, PAINLESS and Miss Universe across Sydney’s Liberty Hall, Melbourne’s 170 Russell and Perth Festival. From cult status to critical acclaim, Nilüfer’s vignettes of introspection and singular guitar style have cultivated enduring reference and praise. Today she stands as one of the UK’s leading alternative music exports.

Currently on tour with Alex G across North America and steadying to support Lorde across the UK/Europe at the end of this year, Nilüfer will showcase her arresting aura and one of a kind voice, translating her lo-fi production and textured sound on stage with live band. Her recent Dancing Shoes EP arrived in July as an extension of her celebrated third album. Written alongside a collection of tracks she re-approached with her creative partner Wilma Archer when she returned from touring My Method Actor.

Featuring ‘Cold Heart’, cherished by NME for her vocals “creating an ethereal, haunting feel throughout,” and ‘Where To Look’ remarked by Stereogum as reflective of her “classic formula of layering textured, sometimes-noisy guitars over her gorgeous voice,” the release landed her largest sets to date, including Glastonbury, Dour, All Points East, Way Out West and more. Now Yanya’s eyes are firmly set on continuing that streak in Australia.
