Pabllo Vittar announces ‘Pride with Pabllo and Friends’ livestream celebration
As IRL Pride festivities around the world have been put on hold due to the worldwide pandemic, Brazilian artist, activist, world-renowned drag queen, and cross-cultural icon Pabllo Vittar has embraced the spirit of pride and announced an international virtual experience: ‘Pride With Pabllo & Friends’.
Fresh off the release of her third album, 111 and her first global fashion campaign, posing in both the masculine and feminine with Calvin Klein, #ProudInMyCalvins, Pabllo will live-stream the event via her YouTube channel and feature a diverse array of artists including friends and previous collaborators such as Alma, Aluna, Benito Skinner, Betty Who, Big Freedia, Camilo, Diplo, Dorian Electra, Elena Rose, Kai, Lali, Lauren Jauregui, Lil Miquela, Madame Gandhi, Paloma Mami, Pedro Capo, Princess Nokia, Pussy Riot, Rina Sawayama, Sofi Tukker, Thalía, Tito Rey, Tove Lo, Urias, and Yaeji.
“I’m excited for you all to join me and my friends as we honour and celebrate Pride together. It’s going to be a party, but we will continue to spread the message of inclusivity and love because no matter what anyone says; Pride is not canceled! Remember babies, that LGBTQ+ rights would not exist today if it weren’t for the black community and contributions from activists. We must celebrate the brave people that fought for our rights and must continue to push forward until we all have equal rights – because Pride is a fight against discrimination and a stride towards justice for all. Happy Pride and remember black lives matter!” says Vittar.
The event has partnered with PLUS1 to support crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth through The Trevor Project. The celebration will take place on June 28th at 1PM PST / 4PM EST / 5PM BZ / 10PM CET via YouTube.
