LOVE FOR ESCAPISMS EP
“It’s dreamy, unabashedly cheerful and deliberately compiled to feel like you’re outside in an African savanna.”
Art Felicis
“It’s an exploratory mishmash of flavours and a twisting and turning homage to his influences, but it’s so masterfully orchestrated and tight that Del Turco pulls it all off without a hitch.”
Best Before
“A diverse and ever-changing array of inspirations, cleverly sutured together into dancefloor operators…Thoughtful and spacious, he makes it seem easy; would that there were many other producers capable of pulling off feats like this.”
Chris Cobcroft, 4ZZZ
“Ribongia doing it again. Rhythm is the king and ruler of this tumbling piece of work.”
Lewi McKirdy, triple j
“ESCAPISMS, does as its name suggests, providing six sonic journeys that meander from footwork through synth-heavy dance music and moody pop music to native African sounds…Whether you want your mind to drift down off down a sunlit river or into a strobe-lit club, you’ll find something to love on ESCAPISMS.”
Pigeons and Planes
“…this distinctly unique diamond in the rough is definitely one to watch for 2016.”
Pilerats
“A body of work that achieves everything it had set out to do, Ribongia‘s, Escapisms EP is well articulated and carefully sculpted for your listening pleasure.”
Purple Sneakers
“Ribongia’s ESCAPISMS EP is just what it proclaims to be: an enchanting aural escape…The entire 6 track EP is testament to the work of del Turco whose music is quite literally an expose on the nature of ribongia – offering 6 tracks that express a special kind of chaos and rowdiness. This one’s definitely worth a listen.”
Stoney Roads
“The world may be running out of names for dance music producers but Ribongia, an archaic Italian word meaning chaos, pandemonium, rowdiness, general mischief; certainly isn’t running out of ideas.”
The Music
“In Australia, it’s common to see producers following a similar sound or trend, but Ribongia breaks moulds and can’t be confined, standing out with weird beats that catch your attention straight away…The future looks solid for this enigmatic producer.”
THUMP / VICE
“Global bass music executed with ruthless precision. Damn.”
Tim Shiel, Double J
