The musical project of Georgia Smith, Geography’s art manifests as a thread between two disparate worlds – an affectionate, rural upbringing in regional NSW’s Guyra and the landscapes that guide her, against the community and self-discovery Melbourne’s urban scene provides outsiders. First finding her feet under the presence of lockdowns, music came to conjure hope for Smith, striving to maintain equilibrium between her deep connection to place, and the catharsis of escapism.
