Lou Salome
Lou Salome is a love story in the form of a band. It is an imagined romance between New York glam rock poet Leah Hennessey and L.A. dream pop singer songwriter Jack Kilmer.
Their debut album “Just Something You Cared About In High School” is an archive of love letters to a lost Eden of electric teenage dreams. Jack and Leah first met in an acting class in New York in a snowstorm where they were assigned the campfire scene from My Own Private Idaho. They quickly discovered their shared obsessions with obscure British satirical post punk and started playing shows immediately, opening for underground legends like Ian Svenonius and Christeene.
Jack and Leah have both always worked in film as well as in music. Jack is a celebrated indie actor (Palo Alto, Lords of Chaos) and Leah is a director (John Early: Now More Than Ever, ZheZhe). While not exactly a concept album, Just Something You Cared About in High School is cinematic in scope, charting the alchemical process of infatuation, from the spark of desire to tragedy and ultimately finding salvation in the myth of rock and roll.
