PRAISE FOR SPEED

“SPEED does not exist for the sake of just being a band... they want to keep the hardcore scene that shaped them alive, and ensure the baton gets passed to the next generation”

Rolling Stone

“Only One Mode’s vulnerability is bracing and courageous, strength from emotional transparency. It’s a love letter to the hardcore community and to the band itself, a unit forged from ever-deepening mateship, loyalty and support”

Sydney Morning Herald

“Uncompromising and undeniable. The Australian upstarts cement their status as hardcore’s most exciting band, with a debut album that stays true to their rapid-fire roots”

NME

“ONLY ONE MODE stays true to what has made SPEED a ceiling-shattering hardcore band. While some hardcore thrives because it feels like a frenzied fight between instruments, SPEED’s songs feel like a symphony that’s conjuring a storm in perfect harmony”

COMPLEX

“In the past five years, this Sydney band has redefined Australian hardcore music for a new generation of fans”

GQ Australia

Today SPEED unleash the three song ALL MY ANGELS EP available through Last Ride Records and Flatspot Records. Alongside it comes an intense performance-style video for title track ‘ALL MY ANGELS’, which was jointly directed by Jack Rudder, Thomas Elliott, and SPEED. The video features friends and family across the Australian hardcore community and the globe, including Flatspot Records team-mates Whispers (Thailand). WATCH HERE + LISTEN TO EP HERE + PURCHASE VINYL + MERCH  HERE.

ALL MY ANGELS was produced, recorded and mixed by Elliott Gallart at The Chameleon Studios and sees the band reflecting on the passing of three close friends in recent years. Those events brought intense heartbreak to their community, but over time, they’ve magnified what SPEED have always held as their central ethos: To love unconditionally, without fear or regret.

The three songs reflect on grief while honouring the memories of those lost, and mark the band’s heaviest hitting material to date. Lyrics on the EP address the sobering realities of loss, and include musings on mortality – more vulnerable and raw than ever before. The title track ends with a direct statement of intent; “All my angels, I can’t give up.”

Of the title track, vocalist Jem Siow reveals ‘ALL MY ANGELS’ “wrestles through the immense hurt and confusion that comes with the loss of those deeply loved, especially in the instance of suicide… in striving towards their image and paying forward the lessons they bestowed to us, we can inch closer to not letting their deaths lie in vain.”

SPEED is Jem Siow (vocals), Aaron Siow (bass), Josh Clayton (guitar), Dennis Vichidvongsa (guitar), and Kane Vardon (drums). Having gained prominence with 2024 full-length ONLY ONE MODE, they have had a whirlwind year, from performing across the globe to playing Coachella to just wrapping up a US tour supporting Turnstile.

On October 25th the band will celebrate the EP release with a show at roller rink Xanadu in Brooklyn, NY alongside End It and MSPAINT. From there, SPEED will fly to Europe for an eleven date tour supporting Malevolence with Dying Wish and Psycho-Frame. The band will bring it home to Australia with appearances at Rolling Sets, a Hardcore Xmas show with End It, Algor Mortis, Antenna, Scram and Hail Mary on Dec 7th, and Flatspot / Last Ride World on December 14th.
