The Favors (FINNEAS & Ashe) release their debut album, The Dream on Darkroom Records. ‘David’s Brother’, the high-spirited focus track, also arrives with a Claudia Sulawski-directed music video featuring the full band. LISTEN HERE + WATCH VIDEO HERE.

‘David’s Brother’ is an uptempo yet nostalgic track that vividly captures the relatable tension of running into someone unexpectedly at a bar and balancing self-restraint, all wrapped in the lively, collaborative production that defines the band’s album. Set in a bar, the video highlights their effortless chemistry and genuine bond as they reminisce, laugh, and celebrate—the joy and togetherness at the heart of The Favors. The bright harmonies and alternating solo verses follow naturally from the intimate dialogue that characterises ‘The Little Mess You Made‘ and ‘The Hudson‘.

The Dream is a no-rules project that revives the warmth and groove of ’70s pop with razor-sharp songwriting, lush harmonies, and a distinctly modern edge. Drawing deep inspiration from the golden era of Laurel Canyon, The Dream channels the intimate storytelling and sun-soaked melancholy of artists like Carole King and Simon & Garfunkel —filtered through a cinematic lens that stretches coast to coast. The band is fronted by longtime friends and collaborators FINNEAS and Ashe—who first captured hearts with their 2019 hit ‘Moral of the Story‘ and followed it up with 2021’s ‘Till Forever Falls Apart‘. A few songs bring New York City into vivid focus while, at its heart, the album remains rooted in Los Angeles, where it was largely written and recorded face-to-face in FINNEAS’ living room joined by his solo band members Matthew Fildey (Ricky “Rat” Gourmet) and David Marinelli (Marinelli).

“It was just drums, an old CP80, electric piano, guitar, bass, and Ashe and me singing together,” Finneas recalls. “That’s how every artist dreams of making a record,” Ashe adds. “People don’t record live vocals together anymore—it felt so romantic and fun.” “It’s a true long-play album,” Finneas continues. “The kind you put on start to finish while cooking with friends.” “I want you to feel warm, fuzzy, and heartbroken all at once,” Ashe concludes. The album release will be surrounded by a select slate of headline shows which kicked off last night at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles.
