‘Tonight’s Entertainment’ is out now, buy/stream it here.

Eora/Sydney indie upstarts The Rions today reveal their highly awaited debut album, Everything Every Single Day, is set for release on October 3. With the news comes their latest single and video ‘Tonight’s Entertainment’ out now, plus the announcement of a national headline theatre tour slated for October, presented by triple j. LISTEN HERE + PRE-SAVE THE LP HERE + TOUR INFO HERE.

From their beginnings as high-school classmates, The Rions – composed of Noah Blockley, Harley Wilson, Asher McLean, and Tom Partington – could never have imagined what they have now become. Catapulting to national recognition winning triple j’s Unearthed High in 2021 with their breakout single ‘Night Light’, The Rions today boast millions of streams across their catalogue, selling out headline shows both at home and internationally, and have fostered a community of fervently loyal fans. ‘Tonight’s Entertainment’ sees the band step back and take it all in, reflecting on a job that “fills us with more gratitude than we know what to do with.”

“It was built around the piano riff Harley had written whilst in the green room of one of our shows in Canberra,” The Rions share. “We wanted to paint the picture of our gratitude, so to speak, with something as beautifully simple as ‘I wouldn’t change a thing if I could’ in regards to what we get to do for a living. We are so lucky to be surrounded by a beautiful team every angle we turn, and it has allowed us to build a relationship with fans around the world.”

Today’s single also arrives with an official music video, directed by Emily Mays from Chisel, inspired by the relentless drive and tenacity of street performers. “It’s one thing to perform in front of thousands of people, but it takes a special kind of confidence to play on the street to no one, until it’s to someone,” the band says. “Just pretending to perform on camera in character for the music video was hard enough for us, so we have the upmost respect for the artists that are out there every day, grinding. We chose a colourful line up of characters for the video, spanning iconic industry freaks like the great, late David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust), inspirations of ours like Ringo Starr and Mk.gee with his latest album Two Star and the dream police, and the modern super star Harry Styles.”

WATCH: ‘Tonight’s Entertainment’ (Official Music Video)

‘Tonight’s Entertainment’, along with acclaimed singles ‘Maybe I’m Just A Freak’ and ‘Shut You Out’, provide a first glimpse into The Rions’ forthcoming debut album Everything Every Single Day: a project that encapsulates the self-discovery of a band that’s only just getting started. “In some ways, it feels like the first real step,” the band explain. “It’s the most open wound we’ve allowed the world to see thus far, and an insight into our lives as humans. All our triumphs, our regrets, our shortcomings, our philosophies, our hopes, and our dreams on a 13-track silver platter.”

Outside the studio, the four-piece have established themselves as one of the country’s most prolific live acts, and today The Rions are excited to announce their national album tour slated for October, presented by triple j. The band’s biggest headline shows to date will kick off in Meanjin / Brisbane the day of album release, before taking to Eora / Sydney, Naarm / Melbourne, nipaluna / Hobart, and Tarndanya / Adelaide, ahead of their Spilt Milk festival sets happening across Australia this December. General onsale for The Rions’ Australian headline tour begins from 12pm AEST on Thursday July 24.

With a rapidly growing international fanbase, The Rions will also embark on a headline tour across the UK and Europe this November, with dates scheduled for Bournemouth, Cornwall, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, London and Amsterdam. For all tour dates and ticketing info, see HERE.
