TRUE COLOUR LP
The debut album by The Terrys
October 7 via Domestic La La

‘Situation 99’ is out now, buy/stream it here.

Today, The Terrys are elated to announce the arrival of their debut album True Colour, out this October 7 via Domestic La La, alongside a string of national tour dates to mark its release. To celebrate the news, the band have shared their latest single, ‘Situation 99‘. LISTEN + WATCH HERE.

Speaking about their upcoming debut album, The Terrys share “It feels crazy just to be saying that today we announce our debut album. So much has gone into this album, blood, sweat, tears and froth. The singles we’ve released this year will be on the album, but the real magic is in the songs no one has heard yet. We’re so excited to get the record out and tour it with everyone. We want to thank each and every one of you who wake up in the morning and crank the tezzas, who come to our shows, who slide into our DMs, who buy our tee shirts and make all of this possible. Without you guys True Colour would have never have happened.”

With today’s news, The Terrys have shared a taste of True Colour in the form of ‘Situation 99‘, a melting pot of their recent releases, the emotive ‘Rolling Stone‘ and rousing ‘Waiting For You‘, both of which have been embraced by playlisting across triple j, Unearthed, RAGE and MTV, support from NME, Music Feeds and intimate live performance for Rolling Stone and DSP coverage across Local Noise, Rock Out, The Local List, Indie Arrivals, Fresh Finds AU + NZ and New Music Friday AU + NZ. ‘Situation 99‘ meets both in the middle, part psychedelic trip as conveyed through the music video, part considered plea to expand one’s horizons, the single pushes the creative edges of The Terrys‘ musical canon unlike before. Here they build on their intoxicating charisma to debut their fully realised musical world.

Speaking to the making of ‘Situation 99‘, the band reveal “Lu dog had been sitting on these hectic chords for a while and we knew there was a banger in there. Lu and the rest of the band made the most pumping instrumental when we were recording at The Grove and then let Finchy take it home with him to spend a couple of weeks coming up with the lyrics. We took some time to cook up the perfect SPACE ROCK banger.”

Recorded at The Grove alongside Jack Nigro (Skegss, DMA’S, Julia Jacklin, Middle Kids), True Colour is infectious, fun, free-spirited and most significantly, creatively ambitious. Known for their easy-going, take-it-as-it-comes approach to life, The Terrys‘ debut album is a deeply contemplative release encouraging listeners to embrace the highs and lows as they happen, to find their own true colours. This October, The Terrys will perform across the country to celebrate True Colour‘s release – pre-sale tickets are on sale now, pre-save True Colour HERE to get exclusive access. GA tickets are on sale from 9 AM AEST tomorrow, Friday 26 August.
