Vallis Alps unveil Mansionair remix of ‘You & I’, debut LP Cleave out now
Following the release of their anticipated album, Cleave, Vallis Alps today present a remix ‘You & I’ from Mansionair. LISTEN HERE.
In their debut album, we saw the two halves of Vallis Alps – contrasting forces – to shift from states of turbulence and friction to a flourishing partnership. Praised by NME Australia as “the sound of a band standing in its truth – the whole truth and nothing but the truth, no matter how dark and ugly it can get”, Vallis Alps unveiled a unique prism of electro-pop as sonically diverse as the stories that unfurl throughout its twelve tracks.
Reimagining the original single, Mansionair shift the needle on ‘You & I’ to create an energetic rendition that is bright, punchy and follows Vallis Alps’ true form with depth and intuition. Of the remix and collaborative process Mansionair shares, “Nearly a decade of friendship, close to ten years of cherished memories – and now, our musical worlds beautifully merge! We’re beyond thrilled to remix ‘You and I’ for Vallis. Parissa and David aren’t just dear friends; they’re a profound source of inspiration. Their shared musical journey is a testament to the magic of genuine connections formed through music. This remix is our tribute to their bond and an ode to the friendship between our bands!”
David Ansari of Vallis Alps furthers this, “The Mansionair guys are some of our closest friends in music (and in general, to be honest) — but friendship aside, they’re some of the best remixers on the planet. Seriously. They’ve totally elevated ‘You & I’ into a new dimension where sad lyrics and upbeat production can live in harmony — and building connections between those contradictions is the hallmark of a great remix. They nailed it.”
The project of Parissa Tosif and David Ansari arrives with a tasteful nod to the ahead-of-their-time trailblazers from Vallis Alps’ come up (Chrome Sparks, Shlohmo, Baths), against a keen ear for the future. With singles like ‘You & I’, the assertive ‘Higher Than This‘ and triple j playlisted ‘Start Again’ to the anthemic ‘Set It Off, Set It Right’ and ‘On The Eve Of The Rush‘, Vallis Alps have picked up edirotal acclaim across NME Australia, Bandcamp, Frankie Magazine, 10 Magazine, Music Feeds, SBS and more, as well as radio support from triple j, Double J, FBi Radio and SYN FM amongst others for their ability to balance the affecting with club-thumping. Channeling the affliction of a Joji ballad with the slow-burn smash of Glass Animals and Biig Piig, closer today than ever before, Cleave is a defining, multi-layered statement for Vallis Alps.
