V***ra Boys release new single ‘Troglodyte’ from forthcoming album

Stockholm post-punk band V***ra Boys (***=iag for spam) return this week with new single ‘Troglodyte‘ from their recently announced album Cave World out July 8th via YEAR0001. LISTEN HERE.
Setting the tone thematically and sonically for the rest of the album, ‘Troglodyte‘ is a driving and upbeat exploration into the chaos and confusion of current events through the comparison of modern man with troglodytes (I.E. cave dwellers). Stewing on our current state of humanity, rife with violence and science-denial, headman Sebastian Murphy notes “People look down at apes as primitive life forms, but we’re just this horrible, lazy society killing each other and starting wars, while they’re able to love and feel. Does that make them the true ape or us?”
Having just announced a new album and coming off a completely sold-out U.S. Tour which included stand-out performances at Coachella, the V***ra Boys continue to establish themselves as the apex of modern punk. 2021’s Welfare Jazz, which earned rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, GQ, NME, Stereogum and FADER, showed the band’s class in production and Murphy’s abilities as a writer, but they want more and Cave World is a testament to that.
Along with their recent album announcement, the V***ra Boys have announced new US and EU dates that include a Fall 2022 US Co-headline tour with UK band Shame. Kicking off September 29th for two nights at Oakland’s New Parish and wrapping on Halloween in Dallas, the twenty-three date tour will make stops in Denver, Nashville, Brooklyn, New Orleans and so much more (full dates HERE). The band will then head to the EU for an additional run of dates, making this their largest tour yet. More dates remain to be announced as well.
