Wafia finds empowerment during magic hour in new video for ‘I’m Good’

September 18 2018

Today WAFIA has unveiled the official ‘I’m Good‘ video which premiered on Billboard overnight. The visual is a true one shot music video, captured on film by director James Robinson during magic hour on a Highland Park street in Los Angeles. Billboard describes, “with a no-frills approach that puts Wafia’s confident charisma in plain view, “I’m Good” invokes a positive movement that is impossible to resist.” Watch ‘I’m GoodHERE.

Robinson divulged the video treatment was all about reinterpreting Wafia’s song into a magical realism context, seeing poetry in the everyday. He shares, “The video is about bringing pop back down from its inaccessible heights and seeing yourself be liberated even in the simplest, everyday moments.

When asked about the filming process Wafia shared, “Because filming any kind of music video isn’t hard enough, we set out to shoot this video as one continuous shot at sunset. I’m so glad we went for it though, it felt so natural and seeing it back I can’t imagine having done it any other way.

Wafia is turning heads with her infectious release ‘I’m Good‘. Co-written with Wrabel (Ellie Goulding, Adam Lambert), and produced by Rogét Chahayed (Halsey, Travis Scott) and Grammy-nominated writer / producer John Hill (Portugal. the Man, Foster The People), the buzzing bop was released to acclaim via Future Classic. The Fader coined ‘I’m Good‘ as a “post-heartbreak glo-up” while NewNowNext gushed “Wafia’s sweet, angelic voice riding this groovy bassline is impeccable”.

The captivating tune has garnered over 2.5M streams on Spotify and spins at radio stations across the globe, with ‘I’m Good‘ which sat as the most played track on triple j for three weeks running and sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne on her upcoming Australian headline tour in October.

She’s preparing to for her next release to come out on Future Classic and will be touring worldwide in support of the project – including her Australian headline tour next month and a North American tour at the end of 2018 that includes support dates for Louis The Child.
