Burgeoning Eora / Sydney producer-songwriter WALKER. today shares his second single, ‘Lost Our Way’. LISTEN + WATCH HERE.

WALKER. channels pure rapture in ‘Lost Our Way’, picking up on the catharsis of his emotive debut ‘TOMMY’. Wrung on the emotional resonance of spoken word poetry from Louis The Hippie to recount the spectrum of human interaction, ‘Lost Our Way’ is influenced by the markers of UK dance music – slightly nostalgic, analogue felt syncopation. Shapeshifting from sparse ambience to percussive sub, resulting in an uplifting display of WALKER.’s dynamic, sense-driven, production.

Speaking to the nature of collaborating with Louis The Hippie, WALKER. reveals “My good friend and long time collaborator, Lach Bostock (from Mansionair) and I stumbled upon a poem by the remarkable London-based poet known as Louis The Hippie on Instagram. The moment I heard his poem ‘Grace’, I was instantly captivated by the power of his voice and his profound words. I had goosebumps immediately listening to his vulnerability and expressive accent. Lach and I started creating music around the samples I’d collected on my MPC.”

“The song speaks to the universal truth that we’re all on this rollercoaster of life,” he explains. “Some days we are your best selves, living our best lives while others we’ve lost our way and find ourself in the chaos. Louis’s words resonated with me because they reminded me of what it means to be a human. He spoke to our right to express happiness, sadness, anger, fear, kindness, and even our less pleasant sides (sometimes all in a week). His words grounded me and left me with a profound sense of acceptance.”

WALKER. is the affecting new endeavour of producer, photographer and film maker, Sean Walker, launched with his debut release ‘TOMMY’. A raw, anthemic musical escape dedicated to his twin sibling juxtaposing the melancholic with the uplifting, ‘TOMMY’ highlights his craft for constructing emotionally potent, idiosyncratic dance music. Resonating across triple j Unearthed’s Dave Ruby Howe as “We’ve heard plenty of this emotive dance sound lately but this could be a near-perfect version tbh. WALKER.’s evocative yet euphoric touch deserves high praise,” alongside support from Purple Sneakers, Happy, Music Feeds, RAGE and others including a feature in EA’s FC 2024 soundtrack.

Calling to mind Jamie xx through to Massive Attack, HAAi to James Blake, WALKER.’s latest chapter continues his winning formulation of pensive, brooding electronica with empathetic and tender lyricism that has brought his long-standing musical career to stages alongside Solange, Darkside, SBTRKT, Primavera, Pitchfork Paris, the Sydney Opera House; features for Tesla, Lancôme Paris, BOSE, Victoria’s Secret, Netflix’s You (Season 4) and Elite (Season 2) and many more. Now with his first solo musical statement the essence of WALKER.’s artistry remains guided by feeling, lived experience and community.
