Watch Folk B*tch Trio perform ‘God’s A Different Sword’ for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #LateShowMeMusic Series
PRAISE FOR Folk Bitch Trio
“In a world often obsessed with overnight success, Folk Bitch Trio are taking their time honing their craft... made a name for themselves with spellbinding harmonies and disarming honesty”
“...this is one of those debut records so accomplished that it’s as if it’s just fallen out of the ether, fully formed. By blending melody, harmony and palpable atmosphere, Folk Bitch Trio have created a masterful debut that lingers long after the final notes ring out.”
“Softly beguiling, the band’s debut album is frequently exceptional, containing songwriting of rare emotional power.”
“There’s a fearlessness in [Folk Bitch Trio’s] tilted harmonies and in the strange turns of its storytelling, as in this half-confession, half-hallucination grounded in complicated heartbreak”
“Now Would Be a Good Time, by Folk Bitch Trio: join their inner circle”
“With their confiding lyrics and vocals alike, these three Melbourne musicians strike a chord by singing together as an age-old conduit for emotional release.”
“There’s just something so delightfully unexpected about a group whose music is resplendent in such gorgeous harmonies and confessional songwriting having such a prickly name. Folk Bitch Trio wish to upend expectations.”
“There is a playful air to Melbourne’s Folk Bitch Trio, a group that serves its laid-back acoustic sound with a shot of vodka rather than a cup of coffee... Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle sing of bad habits and moments of weakness as their harmonies lock together and their spirits carry them through to the next untimely slip-up”
“The result is an astonishing record, music anchored by harmonies so instinctual they sound almost telepathic.”
“With harmonies so dreamy, lyrics so witty, and song structures so timeless, the debut studio album from Melbourne’s Folk Bitch Trio is a true treasure.”
“[Folk Bitch Trio] sing as if they are one organism, singing entrancing, dream-like songs from one heart, beating right in time with yours.”
“Stunning three-part harmonies with candid lyrics and “rock’n’roll energy.”
“...staggering debut album”
“An exquisite, arresting introduction.”
“It does exactly what a debut should: it’s an introduction to what Folk Bitch Trio are all about. Unapologetic in every sense, there’s little doubt that they’re destined for big things.”

The band has already toured all over the world in support of their debut, and this mesmerising performance previews their first ever North American headline tour beginning next month. They kick off their tour in Washington, DC, with stops in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, and more before linking up with Foxwarren for a run of dates in Canada at the end of the month. A full list of dates can be found below and tickets are now on sale.
The trio released their “exquisite, arresting introduction,” (MOJO) debut album, Now Would Be A Good Time, which has garnered widespread praise from publications in Australia and abroad, has earned them four ARIA Award nominations: Best Group, Breakthrough Artist, Best Independent Release, and Best Adult Contemporary Album, and has been shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize for Best Australian Album of 2025.
Now Would Be A Good Time tells vivid, visceral stories. Folk Bitch Trio’s music sounds familiar, built on a foundation of the music they’ve loved throughout their lives—gnarled Americana, classic rock, piquant, and clear-eyed balladry. Yet the songs are modern and youthful, with the trio singing acutely through dissociative daydreams, galling breakups, sexual fantasies and media overload—all the petty resentments and minor humiliations of being in your early twenties in the 2020s.
