Westerman shares video for new single ‘Albatross’
Earlier this month, WESTERMAN announced details of his Ark EP and previewed a track from it, ‘Albatross‘. Today he shares a visual interpretation. Watch it HERE.
Directed by Emilie Norenberg, the video is set at night in the curious setting of Margates Powell Cotton Museum where it finds Westerman alone among a multitude of stuffed animals. The dynamic suddenly changes when one of the animals springs into life.
“It was a fun day we had by the seaside” he suggests. “Thanks to the Powell Cotton Museum for being so obliging. I hope you like it.”
The Ark EP was written in between a lot of travelling and recorded over an intense 3-day period with little sleep or contact with anyone. With minor re-drafting and editing the result is something looser than previous singles ‘Confirmation’, ‘Edison’ and ‘Easy Money’ and debut EP Call and Response.
Westerman sets off on his UK tour this week starting with Oxford this week and ending with his largest headline show to date at London’s Oslo, before heading to Europe and the US including performances at Pitchfork Avant-Garde Festival and debut headline shows in NYC and LA. See dates and details here.
The Ark EP is out November 9 on Blue Flowers and ‘Albatross’ is out now, buy/stream it here.
