Collaborative Melbourne/Naarm based duo Wishlist have today shared their new single and video ‘I’m Sorry’. LISTEN HERE + WATCH HERE.

Though early into their creative partnership, launching Wishlist mid-2025, Stella Farnan and Soren Maryasin have built a consistent and much-loved fan base within Australia through their debut single ‘Even When I’m Leaving and recent digital pop track ‘Strike‘.

With the release of ‘I’m Sorry‘, the duo continues to showcase their unique and signature sonic sparkle across the track. Unlike previous tracks, the chorus for ‘I’m Sorry‘ was initially found in one of their earliest writing sessions, though they struggled expanding on the song for some time. “At a point we managed to make it all come alive just playing acoustic guitars,” they share. “But we weren’t sure if we’d manage to get it back in the computer again. We kind of ended up collecting all of these samples that became little arrangement building blocks that we fell in love with. From there we rebuilt it over again until it felt right. That’s how we ended up with kind of eclectic sounds across the track.”

As individual artists, Stella and Soren have performed on stages from the Sydney Opera House to theForum, toured with the likes of Angie McMahon, Mallrat, and Gretta Ray, and contributed to Grammy-nominated and ARIA-winning projects. These years spent touring and recording as session musicians and producers have shaped this new phase of their creative endeavours, through the vessel of Wishlist.

Unassuming and unconventional, Wishlist produce each track themselves off two laptops, two headphone sets and a shared tape-machine-style device capturing their ideas as they emerge. This instinctual writing approach has shaped this project into a sound that can only be defined as their own, with each musical brick fitting perfectly into place.

Influenced by the likes of Caroline Polachek, Björk, Imogen Heap and Sylvan Esso – Wishlist‘s sound blends an emotionally charged production with a deep sense of surrealism. The foundation laid by the pair is strongly cementing Wishlist as an emerging artist to watch.
