YHWH Nailgun share ‘Animal Death Already Breathing’ ahead of debut album 45 Pounds out Mar 21 via AD 93
PRAISE FOR YHWH Nailgun
“One way to describe the noise-rock band YHWH Nailgun is to say they sound best when playing in a dark, concrete, abandoned train tunnel in Bushwick”
“Against a tide of fake scenes and demolished live venues, YHWH Nailgun's brand of abrasive punk is shocking an ailing scene back to life”
“The NYC quartet’s jarring and jazzy noise-punk will leave you with no idea what’s happening to you, but you’re gonna love it”
“A truly primal and evocative collection of grindcore sounds”
“Nailgun’s only ambition: invent a style they wished existed”
“Another one coming out of leftfield... keen to hear what they throw at us next”
“Short and sweet but pretty intense, sharp bursts of skeletal rhythms”

Today, the dynamic NYC ensemble, YHWH Nailgun share their third single ‘Animal Death Already Breathing’ off forthcoming album 45 Pounds out via AD 93 and Many Hats. LISTEN HERE.
Last month the band shared ‘Sickle Walk‘ which was named Pitchfork’s ‘Best New Track’ and FADER called the single a “prime cut” saying “the New York-four piece making some of the most tense and exciting rock music in North America.” This burgeoning band has been making waves, catching the discerning ear of Black Midi, Geese, Xiu Xiu, Place To Bury Strangers, Tropical F*ck Storm and more to support on tour.
Rolling Stone, clocked YHWH Nailgun as a “breakout act” at last year’s SXSW Austin, Alt Press said “there’s something seductive about the almost violently chaotic nature of their music and show, which Borzone dances through, convulsing, threatening to foam at the mouth with the unending energy of Iggy Pop, and an element of controlled focus that’s all his own” and FADER said “they’re giddy, unsettling, and exciting all at the same time.” Locally the group have caught the attention of tastemakers across fbi.radio, 2SER, 4ZZZ, RTR FM and more.
YHWH Nailgun (pronounced ‘ya way’) is a luminary four-person experimental rock project based in NYC, made up of artists Zack Borzone (vocals), Saguiv Rosenstock (guitar), Jack Tobias (synth + electronics), and Sam Pickard (drums). Their music is a visceral blend of styles that reaches toward an absolute essence quickly making a name for the group across borders. With two EPs under their belt so far, the band have been making waves touring across the US, UK and Europe for renowned festivals The Great Escape and Pitchfork Festival in Paris and London to stages shared with Chanel Beads, Nourished By Time, Kassie Krut and more.
Their debut on 45 Pounds is a record of thrilling cacophony. Whirring drums meet the sound of instruments which have been twisted and bent into new shapes, all of which are paired with the arresting growls of Zack Borzone. Throughout the four-piece reimagine what is possible within the confines of a band set up, creating music that perfectly encapsulates the information overload of our times. Capturing the kinetic energy of their singular live show experience, to tape.
