Zimmer90 Share New Track & Music Video, “feel like we used to,” Ahead of US Tour This November
Today, Zimmer90 — the German duo of best friends and creative partners Finn and Joscha who recently released their What Love Is EP (a sparkling cocktail of indie-pop-disco) & are about to embark on North American tour this November — share a surprise new single and video “feel like we used to.” See all the tour dates below + find tickets HERE, and listen / watch “feel like we used to” HERE.
“feel like we used to” is the perfect end of summer song, all about (as the title suggests) remembering the things that were better when we were younger. True to the Zimmer90 sound, 80s synth pop pulses through the track; bass-driven instrumentals are upbeat and shimmery, diabolically danceable in the face of biting nostalgia.
Of the track, Zimmer90 says, “Intuition and Emotion are the most important guidelines in our work. Thatʼs why we chose this song as the next release. It was written in two days in our home studio in the Black Forest. A seamless feeling was present during the sessions. Condensing the slowly emerging melancholy of late summer, the lyrics open a wide space for people to connect with. The song touches you in a gentle way and evokes feelings of melancholy and beauty. ‘I wanna feel like we used to’ can throw you back to summer memories or lets you take a look into your future.”

On What Love Is, Zimmer90’s sophisticated and wistful pop music recalls shades of Parcels, Air, Phoenix, and The Bee Gees — it’s a collection that highlights their impressively restrained and irresistibly lush sound that straddles disco, yacht rock, French touch, and psychedelia. A wonderful synthesis of the organic and electronic, all the EP’s tracks were performed and recorded in Joscha’s grand-aunt’s warmly appointed studio space.
United by a deep love of music as well as architecture, design, and art, Finn (keys, bass, guitar, backing vocals) and Joscha (lead vocals, keys) exhibit an intimate chemistry on record, on stage, and on their ballooning social media accounts.
It’s been a stacked two years for the duo. 2023 saw them sell out a 28-show headline tour, spanning across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, building on a packed 2022 with 25 gigs. They’ve been crushing the festival circuit too: All Points East Festival (London), MS Dockville (Mainstage, 10K!), Summer Well (Rumania), Frequency Festival (Austria), Electric Picnic (Ireland), Superbloom (Munich), BR Puls Open Air, and Apple Tree Garden among others. Released independently on December 8, 2023, title track “What Love Is” claimed the #1 spot on Instagram with a towering 1.9 million creations and 250K+ TikTok videos. The EP itself has over 36 million Spotify streams already.
Zimmer90 is poised to dominate the last half of 2024. They’ve sold out (again!) their biggest venues yet, headlining across Europe and the UK, and even opened for Chromeo. Now, this November, Zimmer90 will make their North American debut with five shows that aren’t to be missed.
