Maple Glider
Maple Glider is the project of Naarm/Melbourne based singer-songwriter Tori Zietsch (pron. like ‘peach’ with a z), and on her debut LP To Enjoy is the Only Thing she compiles a striking set of vignettes from her life; growing up in a restrictive religious household, falling in and out of love, cross-country and international travel, longing, alienation, and more. It’s an album full of brittle intimacies and effortlessly balanced instrumentation (not a note wasted), brought to vivid life by the beauty of Tori’s artistry and wry sense of dark humour. Produced by ARIA-nominated Tom Iansek (Big Scary, #1 Dads, The Paper Kites, Hockey Dad), the album has found fans across the music journalism world, and Maple Glider recently performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk (at home), and Stephen Colbert at home.
