The story of FELIVAND is that of an artist continually growing into herself. Equipped with a Garageband-outfitted iPad in high school, she spent adolescent lunchtime hours secreted away, toying with recordings, initiating herself into the worlds of production and beat making by absorbing and creating as much as she possibly could. In the space of these private, unassuming hours, and her discovery of artists like Solange, Frank Ocean and Kali Uchis, the sound of FELIVAND was cultivated. It’s a synthesis which gave the impression of appearing fully formed when she self-released her breezy debut EP, In Bloom. FELIVAND still records in much the same manner as she began, however she has since opened up to outside songwriters and producers, transposing her creative process from bedroom to studio. 2022 saw the release of her long-awaited debut album ‘Ties’, garnering praise from Billboard, COLORS, NME, Rage, Bandcamp, triple j, Rage, 10 Magazine, Lyrical Lemonade along the way. Between rich bass lines, warm, jazz-flickered chords, harmonic vocal stacks and crisp percussion, FELIVAND’s honest and vulnerable songwriting continues to be the prism in which she makes sense of herself and the world around her.
